Dirty Go Clay Band

The three artists Louise Gaarmann, Lea Nielsen, and Mette Maya Gregersen together form the artists’ group Dirty Go Clay Band and have created the remarkable work of art Jorn’s Last Meal.

Dirty Go Clay Band is a band of ceramicists. They meet for practice sessions and apply the rule that one work must be completed at each session. In other words, no tooling or finishing touches are allowed later. Its all about play, create and having fun.

Jorn’s Last Supper

6 minutes sneak preview from the making of Jorn’s last supper.

Jorn Museum

This exhibition at Jorn Museum startet really a long time ago… We had gone to Sweden on a research trip and wanted to do something together. So when you walk and talk, ideas arises, So we got an artist in residency grant at Jorn´s Studio in Læsø (one of the most beautiful islands of Denmark) Here we spent one week in Jorns old studio with his spirits and developed the idea about, if we could celebrate his last meal, and make him one last party, what would that look like… As it went we were invited to take part in an exhibition with the Danish Artist Association where we spent two weeks as part of the exhibition to let people be part of out spontaneous creative happening. We had so much fun during two weeks of making clay on the second floor in a ghetto. Thanks to Peteresens Tegl for clay. We went to their brick factory afterwards to glaze the table in their gas brick kilns.

Randers Art Museum

Den Jyske Hesteofring

We were invited to make a happening in Randers in celebrations of DEN JYSKE HINGST (the horse from Jutland) (sorry guess you have to be Danish to get this one…) So were made loads of small horses and One BIG HORSE of 950 kg. that’s nearly a ton. It was so much fun and we invited all the passers by to throw some clay at the horse. After that we dissected it and liftet nearly one ton of wet clay to the second floor of the art museum. In HOMMAGE to HELEN SCHOU and BJØRN NØRGAARD.

Rock the boat

jolly jolly

Hillarious. Back at our favorite place in the south of Jytland; Petersens Brick Factory. We wanted to make a boat. In bricks. with sgraffito and graffiti. We did take it to the sea but it didn’t float. It broke. As things do…Part of the process.
